Crimsix Accomplished Something That Everyone Thought Was Impossible

Crimsix, aka Ian Porter, with his trophy for winning his first race ever

This guy right here legitimately accomplished the impossible. Scratch that, - what everyone thought was impossible. Meet Ian Porter, better known as Crimsix. He's a 3x World Champion professional Call of Duty player who retired after almost 15 years competing at the highest level. He's one of the best to ever do it and also one of the most entertaining human beings you'll ever see.

He's always had a passion for cars. While he was still competing in CoD, he purchased this absolute beauty of a Porsche:

Now I'm not the biggest car guy, but I know a sexy ass car when I see one. A young MRags playing Need for Speed 2 would've done anything to have this car with spinners and neon lights coming off the bottom of the car. Ahhh, the good old days...

So fast forward to 2022 and Crimsix finally decided to retire from professional Call of Duty after almost 15 years competing. But this wasn't the end of Crimsix as he announced he was pursuing his next dream: becoming a professional race car driver.

It all started as a professional Sim racer and then it continued to evolve into more and more...

Now imagine the sound of that - one of the best Call of Duty players ever decides he wants to become a professional race car driver. Truly sounds insane when you put it that way, but when I think about it, there are some similarities.

  1. Gamers and drivers love to sit down for extended periods of time

  2. Pro gaming and pro driving requires your reaction time to be at the highest level possible at all times

  3. If you can play Call of Duty professionally for 15 years straight, you can mentally handle virtually anything

(side note: I'll play Warzone for an hour, maybe 2 max before I lose full. If my career depended on it for 15 years....yeah I can't even imagine)

So as you can see from the tweets above, Crimsix proved himself so much in the racing Sim, that he was then chosen to become true race car driver. Now if you've ever experienced the racing sim life, it's game-changing and most importantly, it can be ultra-realistic.

F1 drivers like Max Verstappen (GOAT) use the racing sims to truly practice their braking and strategy on certain tracks. It's one of the only sports I can think of where a simulator can give you that closely of a real experience.

Now, let's fast forward to the weekend of March 2nd. It's Crimsix's first IRL race and it's the Porsche Sprint Challenge. To even make it this far is outrageous. Just truly flat out insane. What happened next is even crazier.

This guy didn't just win his first race. He won BOTH his first and second race on his first weekend ever racing. Absolutely outrageous and next-level impressive.

If you followed Crimsix loosely since his CoD days, you'll have noticed just how committed he was to making this a reality. He would practice on his sim for 10, 15 or even 20 hour sessions. Not only that but he committed himself to a serious diet to lose weight and become more agile when racing.

The only way you can even attempt to accomplish a feat like this is with sheer will and determination - Which, clearly Crim possesses. As a spectator/fan, you gotta be able to recognize and admire when someone achieves something truly incredible. I wish him continued success and hope to one day see him competing in even bigger races!

LFG Crim!!!
