My NEW Warzone PR! 34 Kills in a 2v2 Tournament!

On Friday, November 27th, Bonzer and I played 2 CMG 2v2 Tournaments. The first one was a free entry tournament and the second was a $103 Prize pool. In the first tournament, we came in 2nd and in the paid tournament, we took home1st place (our first tourney win together). Altogether we hit Verdansk for about 9+ hours.

In the Quarter Finals of the earlier tournament, I got this 34 kill win:

Prior to this game, my personal record was 30 kills. Also, during this game I got my best Kar clip to date and absolutely DESTROYED a full squad. GGs

On the Twitch, you can expect a lot more of these 2v2 styled tournaments. As long as Bonzer's wife allows him, we can pretty much run one of these tournaments every afternoon/night. When we aren't running the tournaments, we'll be wagering opponents for $1 each player (mainly for practice, but Bonzer also has to pay off the Porsche). For those of you that aren't familiar, I'll break down how the tournaments work:

2v2 Kill Race Tournaments

In these tournaments, you and your duo partner queue up with your opponents in a "BR Quads" playlist. Therefore, you are essentially playing duo squads. You will either play Best of 1 (BO1), Best of 2 (BO2) or Best of 3 (BO3). They each have their own set of rules behind the foundation of you and your partner killing more enemies than the opponents.

If you can consistently get 20+ kills between you and your partner, you should win about 70% of your wagers.

Best of 1

As simple as it sounds - 1 Map will be played. Whichever duo gets more eliminations will win the match and move on. In the event of a tie, MOST tournaments will replay the map. In SOME (much more uncommon), the damage for each team will be the tiebreaker. AKA, the team with more damage will win the map.

Best of 2

This is the preferred style of tournament, however it takes much longer. In a best of 2, the team with more eliminations across both maps will move on. Therefore, if you are in Map 1 and the enemy team dies early, the surviving team can extend their lead as much as possible. Vice versa, a team that is down from map 1 can always make a comeback and win.

This style is preferred because in 1 map, anything can happen. You can be shot outa the sky or be pushed by an elite squad and taken out quick. Best of 2s give the largest advantage to the consistent slayers.

Best of 3

The longest and least common of the 3, the BO3 is played between 3 maps, but each map is an independent match. What that means - kills do NOT carry over like in a best of 2. The winner of Map 1 will go up 1-0 and so on. So even if a team loses map 1 by 20 kills, the score is only 1-0.

It is a good styled tournament, however a single round can last 1-1.5 hrs. Add that onto 4-5 rounds in a typical tournament and you can see why not many players prefer this style.

As a player, I enjoy playing 2v2 tournaments more than I do timed kill race tournaments (i.e. Nickmercs Gauntlet) because of it's intensity and miniscule margin for error.
