The #GreenWall is Back

Chills. No other way to describe the feeling of seeing this video + picture on Twitter:

Yesterday, November 11th, 2020, Hector Rodriguez (@H3CZ) announced that he reacquired OpTic Gaming Brand from the Immortals Gaming Club:

Hector is one of the most respected names in the gaming industry. He took control of OpTic gaming in 2007 and built it into one of the world's largest gaming organizations in the world. In 2019, Hecz left OpTic to join NRG when Immortal Gaming Club initially acquired OpTic. I am thrilled to see the true #GreenWall back in the competitive CoD scene. They will be competing as the Chicago OpTic.

Hecz took a much different approach to running his organization than anyone else early on. Whereas the competitive scene was very important to him, he also focused heavily on building his players' personalities on YouTube. He always understood the long-term approach to gaming because like professional sports, an esports career can range significantly from 1-10+ years. Hector is notorious for always asking the question, "Why couldn't you record a video today?" He constantly pushed his players to make content outside of just competitive gaming on the mainstage and in tournaments. During the Black Ops 3 days, some of my favorite content to watch was being made by the OpTic Gaming House in Texas. I would expect to see some sort of "Vision" content back this year from the OpTic Org.

I am thrilled to see the true #GreenWall back in the competitive CoD scene. They will be competing as the Chicago OpTic. The roster will feature: Scump, Formal, Envoy and Dashy.

It's good to have the biggest org in CoD back in the right hands again.
