The Man Behind the Bandana

Updated: Feb 28

Welcome to my website! I appreciate you taking the time to check out MRagsTV.com and learn a little bit more about myself.

Sports and gaming have always been my two favorite hobbies. I'm a die-hard Yankee fan, who practically grew up in the Old Yankee Stadium and a NY Giants fan. When I wasn't playing/watching sports (Football, Basketball and Baseball), I was gaming with my brother, Nick aka King of the North. For about 10 years we shared only one console. We started with PS1, worked our way to PS2 and ultimately to the Xbox 360. As you could imagine, we fought constantly about who's turn it was to play at any given time. When we grew up, we weren't allowed to play video games during the week, so weekends were the only gaming time we had. As of today, I have joined the PC Master Race while KOTN is waiting for his Xbox Series X to come in November (I'm working day and night to have him join the PC gang, give it time my friends. We'll get him there).

I discovered Twitch when I was in college thanks to Xyroz (Best mod GL) and ever since then, I've been hooked. I started streaming Black Ops 3 from my dorm room in college off my PS4. I didn't quite know what I was exactly doing, but I was having a lot of fun doing it. What originally drew me to streaming was a combination of my two favorite things: social interacting plus gaming. It has been so exciting for me to see the evolution and normalization of streaming, professional gaming and content creation within video games. In college, I held a few in-person Fortnite and Rocket League tournaments. Ultimately, these tournaments led to me co-found the Varsity eSports team and club at my university (shoutout Jonny and Xyroz).

I have been streaming on Twitch since April of 2016 - for those of us that have been around Twitch for a while, this was before affiliates or cheering were features on Twitch. Therefore, you were either a Partner with a purple checkmark, or just another tiny streamer. Back in the day on the channel, you would see Black Ops 3 pubs, Search + Destroy Wagers (shoutout Joey) and Minecraft Monday (might have to bring this back). In Fortnite's hay day, I would love to Solo Squad and play in Solo Kill Race Tournaments.

Fast forward to today and I am primarily a Warzone player that has grown substantially thanks to the Common Man Crew of General Smitty's army. The General was looking for some slayers to compete in the Nickmercs' MFAM Gauntlet and I was lucky enough to try out. Unfortunately, I only got one game and was not chosen to play in that specific tournament. However, Smitty DM'ed me and let me know I could play with him whenever a spot opens. A few days later as I'm watching stream, I see an opening. The squad is myself, Datboytmatt, WSD and Smitty. We end up getting back to back wins and WSD has to leave for a radio show. Himicane joins as our third and the rest is history. 8 wins in a row in the books (insert General's Salute).

Aside from The General, I have linked arms with the following individuals in Verdansk and Polus (Among Us) - Hank Lockwood, Billy Football, PFT, Megan Anderson and Leonard Fournette!

Originally, I held subscriber tournaments for members of Rag Nation. During these events, I would cast certain matchups via a bracket style tournament. We originally started with a gunfight tournament, followed by a Search and Destroy Tournament. From there, I was presented the opportunity to cast Barstool Gametime's Call of Duty Tournaments. My co-casters have been Jake Marsh, Robbie Fox and The General himself. I really enjoy casting - especially on Warzone because it gives me a chance to explain the thinking behind the plays that good Warzone players make.

In the short time since returning to streaming in March, we have built a truly welcoming and special community that is known as #RagNation. I am very proud to be a part of our community because of how many different people we have already connected with. The best way to join Rag Nation is via the stream and also through our discord - https://discord.gg/efBCDHq. We have a variety of different chat rooms, so I am certain you will find something interesting to you, or if you are looking for some teammates, we have plenty who are always looking for some studs. In addition, I play with subs typically once a week on Warzone (reserve your spot through the stream) and every night on Among Us. I typically run one sub tournament a month, so be on the lookout for the next announcement! Join the discord if you would like to play! We would love to have you become a member of Rag Nation.

I hope you guys enjoy the website and the first edition of the merch. Launching this website and taking this next step was actually very nerve-racking and exciting for me. Let me know what topics you guys would like to see next! Can we get some YEET hype in the chat please!?!?!?
